Warped Hiatus/The Return of Tabitha
So right now I'm sitting in my favorite diner in the good ol' city of Langhorne, PA (for those of you not familiar, this is regionally referred to as Northeast Philly) enjoying a cigarette, cup of coffee and my computer ALONE while the smoking ban is still awhile down the road. The is the first time I've sat down and had a real meal since Miami, and safe enough to say that although traveling and experiencing new foods in new cities is fun, I'm glad I get to chat with my favorite waiter, Dan, and simply say "I'll have the usual."
I return to the bus on Tuesday so I must accomplish the following things while I'm here—
1. Get a dolly so that hauling the merch to and from the bus is easier. 2. Bring a stereo so we can play music in the tent. 3. Buy new bins for the merch, as ours have been warped by heat and extra weight. 4. See "The Dark Knight" with my boyfriend. 5. Catch up on my sleep. Finally. And pump water into my dehydrated body. 6. Pack my copy of Warcraft 2/Star Wars trilogy for entertainment on the bus. 7. Bring my N64 so I can school some ECIers in Mario Kart. 8. Transfer to another school by August 1st. Fuck.
I know I've neglected writing about the past few dates so I plan on covering them all right now, starting with Cleveland and ending with the most recent date in Detroit.
Bad Girls
Quick recap before my main update: Virginia Beach is another really good date for us. Merch is going so well that we're almost out of stuff! Not to worry though, the shipments will be coming in soon. So when we get to Philly I'm sure my mother will be psyched to get a bunch of Legit bracelets out of her living room. The crowd here as well is nice, everyone sounds like my nana from texas or my dad when he's angry with their Southern twangs.
I was upset when I couldnt get an empty cup unless I paid six dollars. The more north you travel the worse prices get; argh!
Haven't had a chance to see any bands today but I'm determined to see Say Anything, Katy Perry, Gym Class Heroes, Matishayu (Again) and Bouncing Souls.
I'm also staying relatively clean, believe it or not—the showers were great at the last two dates and the weather has been mild. I can wear makeup! My hair stays straight! Hoorah!
Florida is terrible.
So right now I'm at the Charlotte Warped Tour, a long way away (thank god) from the heat, humidity and humilation of looking TERRIBLE 24/7 in Florida. Maybe the East Coast majority is biased but seriously, how can people live there? We didn't even make it to Miami Warped because some of the equipment got rained on. (Julio however got to go because its his hometown and his friends got him a free ticket. :D)
Needless to say, looking out the bus window and watching palm trees turn to long stretches of green grass and sky was a welcome sight. If you want survival tips for Florida in the summer, -my best piece of advice would be: DON'T GO THERE. Not to say it wasn't fun though.
So I have been slacking on my Warped Tour updates; apologize for that. The only person that probably cares is my Mama but oh well—all I can say is that I've been insanely busy selling merch and nursing my sunburn. Squirting people with the super soaker. Trying to find a good place to shower.
As far as merch goes, today has easily been our most successful day so far. PEACE bracelets are dominating, with my FAVORITE bracelet LURKER falling behind.
But that isn't what Warped is about.
First Day/Intro

AHHHHHHHH first blog. I guess we'll start off with the basics—
my name is Jen Robnett…I'm 20 years old, live in Philly, and for the next month I'll be working on the EIC/PlayWork Productions stage selling Jac Vanek for Playwork/American Apparel shirt designs and the coolest bracelets you've ever fucking seen. On this blog you can look foward to the following:
